The CardioPulmonary Resuscitation course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to administer resuscitation.
Resuscitation refers to the actions taken to keep a casualty alive after their breathing and heartbeat has stopped.
A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving is issued upon successful completion in the following units:

First Aid
The First Aid course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to administer First Aid
to a victim of illness or injury until the arrival of professional medical help.
First Aid requires participants to complete a workbook (or online activities) prior to the course commencement.
The course outlines the important aspects of first aid (including resuscitation) and involves practical applications and assessments as well as a theory exam.
A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving is upon successful completion in the following units:
- HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
First Aid in an Education & Care Setting
HLTAID004: We can also provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting which is unit of competence HLTAID004.
The course is a First Aid course suitable to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting.
This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).
Specific licensing requirements, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority.
Completion of this module takes a little longer and cost an additional $30.

Bronze Medallion
The Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion is recognised as the minimum standard for a qualified lifesaver.
The course aims to develop the level of judgement, technique and physical ability required to safely carry out water rescues and involves practical applications, assessments of CPR on manikins, as well as a theory exam.
Upon successful completion participants will receive the following Statement of Attainments:

Pool Lifeguard Award
The current minimum industry requirement for employment as a Pool Lifeguard at a Swimming Pool or Aquatic Facility is the Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard qualification.
The Pool Lifeguard course is conducted over three days (two days for those who hold a RLSS Bronze Medallion). Participants must have current HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Statement of Attainment to enrol into this course.
This course aims to develop acceptable standards of knowledge, judgement and physical abilities for the supervision of people in swimming pools and involves practical applications as well as a theory exam.
Upon successful completion participants will receive the following Statement of Attainments:
- HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescues
- SISCAQU006 Supervise Clients at an Aquatic Facility or Environment
